Great Moments in Vinyl plays The Rolling Stones

  • Martyrs' 3855 N. Lincoln Avenue Chicago, IL (map)

The Rolling Stones started out intending to be nothing more than the best blues band in Britain.  But by the mid-’60s they found themselves at the top of the pop charts instead.  And as the winds of change approached in the ‘70s, they charted a new direction and married their roots in the blues to the driving rhythms of rock and roll and served it up with plenty of edge and attitude.

The end result?

The Stones felt bold enough to proclaim themselves The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World,…and then they proceeded to prove it.

Join us when we make our return to Martyrs’ (the Chicago club where Great Moments in Vinyl made its debut) to bring you the hits and highlights of the first twenty years of The Rolling Stones. We’ll take you from the debut of England’s Newest Hit Makers through the chart topping collection of outtakes known as Tattoo You.  You’ll hear some of the best music from the band’s first two decades as well as stories about the music and the musicians who created it.
