Great Moments in Vinyl plays The Class of 1973

  • Joliet Area Historical Museum 204 North Ottawa Street Joliet, IL (map)

When Great Moments in Vinyl takes the stage, we usually invite our fans to relive a particular album.  But for our concert featuring The Class of 1973, we’d like you to relive an entire year.

American Graffiti was at the movie theaters, the Watergate hearings were on TV, and the Vietnam War had finally come to an end.

While musically, it was one of the most exciting years in rock.  Each of The Beatles had a hit of his own.  Paul Simon was doing fine without Garfunkel.  Carly Simon had us all guessing about that person who was so vain.  While Elton John put out one of the most successful albums of his career.

And if those artists weren’t keeping you happy enough with their 8-track tapes, you could turn on your car radio and rock out with everyone from Aerosmith to ZZ Top.

Join GMiV for the musical hits and highlights of 50 years ago when we pay tribute to The Class of 1973.
