Online Mini-concert-Rush

A GMiV Online

Mini-concert:

Rush

Great Moments in Vinyl plays Rush

Recorded June 12, 2020 at Martyrs', Chicago, IL.

We were planning to pay tribute to Rush's landmark Moving Pictures album in the spring of 2020, but the coronavirus shutdown prevented the sorts of live music performances that would have brought too many people together in too small of a space. So we did the next best thing and booked our usual venue Martyrs' on a Friday night and brought in a sound person to set us up onstage and run the board. And we also brought a handful of video cameras to record the performance. The result is this GMiV Online Mini-concert featuring some of the songs from our Rush tribute.

Judith Weirauch is our vocalist with Jarrett Donoghue on guitars, Walter Kiefer on bass and synthesizer, Jonathan Reed on drums, drums, and more drums, and William Lindsey Cochran as narrator and cameo vocal appearance.

Dan Glomski mixed our sound live. Lindsey took Dan's multitrack recording and mixed the sound for the video. Pam Potter was part of our crew of camera operators. Jarrett edited all the video footage into this half hour presentation.

Special thanks to Ray Quinn, the owner of Martyrs', for making this possible. He gave Great Moments in Vinyl our start in 2013, and we wanted to acknowledge him and club owners like him in this difficult time. Music venues and other entertainment venues that depend on large crowds have been shut down during the need for physical distancing. You can show them support locally in Chicago by contacting the Chicago Independent Venue League (at civlchicago.com) or nationally through the National Independent Venue Association (at saveourstages.com).

Thanks for watching...and for loving music as much as we do!
